Randomosity to the max

Cleanup on aisle 9 continues! More photos I never got around to posting. Besides, the rain we're receiving here is relentless, so I can't get out for any new photos. For those iced in, I feel for ya!
Old store in St. Gabriel, LA. I've posted it before in color and also black and white.
This time I used an HDR preset in Lightroom. I'm usually not a fan of HDR, but it worked on this photo, I think.

My "baby" on his 30th birthday, July 4th.

My eldest came for a visit in July. He asked me to take his picture by the Bourbon St. sign.
I noticed the NOPD Police sign later. Oh, the irony. I love his contemplative expression here.

Meet Casper. He appeared on my crape myrtle tree in July.

Sunset at LSU Lake in August

Skipper on zinnia, August

This old structure has been a fixture on Hoo Shoo Too Rd. for years. I took this shot on 10/2 with my 100mm lens
and planned to go back with a wide angle lens. The next time I drove by, it had been demolished. Majorly sad!
Sharing with Our World Tuesday.

What gorgeous images!
The general store is a winner, and I love Casper hiding in your myrtle tree.

Cheers,
Merisi

There it is again...Hoo Shoo Too Road. I love that name. Guess I'll have to go out on Google to see if I can find why/how it got its name.

Love your boys photos you shared. Oh, and love Bourbon Street myself too. LOL

That Casper is something else, you and I see things others don't. I like that.

Okay, I don't know how accurate this is, but I guess at one time there was a men's club of the same name?!!

That first pic is the perfect type for the HDR look. And I congratulate you for keeping the sky natural while you spiffed up the building.

Loved these images and loved your son's photos. Great photo of him holding the bottle where everything is in black and white except the orange label. I haven't done anything in HDR yet.

You have some good photos in your repertoire. I like them all – varied, imaginative and good, all of them. I’d love to see the inside of that old store. We had an old store like this close by and a bank bought it. It is different now though. Last week at an estate sale I found a lithograph, framed, of the original old store, so I got it. I could do a post on it – a Civil War battle was fought there. But I have so many posts to write….

Happy you saved that structure for posterity on "film" anyway. Both your boys/young men are so handsome! Random shots are fun -- I'm glad you saved every one of them and shared them with us.

That shot of the old store is fabulous! Love photos of Casper and your two sons, too. The sunset is gorgeous. The eye on that skipper is unbelievable. Too bad about the destruction of the old shed. Glad you got the picture when you did.

We're going to New Orleans for Spring Break. My husband's first time!! Hate to say this - but I was there for the 1980 super bowl and remember very little. Will have to find that same sign and hang on it :-}}}
