Pelican Yoga

It's been an exciting few days around the lakes. Birds acting like rock stars and now YOGA! What a strange and beautiful world we live in!
According to National Geographic, pelicans perform exercises to stretch and maintain their pouch.

"Ah, much better!"

Reaching the zen state
What's next in the exciting world of birds? Ballet? Racing? Bird olympics? One thing you can bet on: this bird-nerd be watching! My mission today is to buy a bird blind with some of my Christmas money at Cabela's or Bass Pro Shop. Watch out, bird world! Here I come.

WOW!!! Awesome captures! I don't think I've ever witnessed first hand a pelican doing this; how awesome that you managed to capture these moves! Beautiful images of our State Bird! Big hugs to you sweet Gail! So glad we are blogging buddies, xoxo

Ok Gail! hi! What is a bird blind? I'm a dork.

But listen to this: You are an AMAZING photographer!!!! Oh, my gosh, girl! Those pelican stretches were almost obscene. Not really, but somewhat hard to view. I'm mature and have seen many things in my life, so, I'll say ok. Ya maybe grotesque is a better term. LOL

Thank you for your nice words regarding the cake mountain. Hungry? LOL

Awesome! A lady here is town who shoots birds (did I say that?), uses refrigerator cardboard boxes from Sears. I can see you now, dragging one through the swamp!

Again, some great images caught by my favorite bird nerd. I don't think you need to waste your money on a bird-blind....your images are great without any assistance whatsoever.

Well, heck. I stretch and such for my pouch; I don't think it's working though unless it's meant to go south.
Is it?

I really like pelicans - I took some pictures a while ago of them drinking by holding their beaks open in the pouring rain - well I assume they were drinking, but it could have been yoga!

Cheers and thinks for linking to WBW.
