Geaux Local II

As part of my Geaux Local series, I am pleased as punch to share another creative soul with all of my animal loving friends. Nadine has been a longtime blogging buddy from my days as a chihuahua blogger. She has two sweet ones also, Chewy and Lilibell. I was so smitten with her jewelled collars, that I ordered some for Izzy. The quality of Nadine's work is exceptional, which I can attest to since Izzy owns four of her pieces. Since then Nadine has branched out, creating dog attire that rivals Versace. Nadine is also a dedicated voice for orphaned/neglected animals, giving a portion of the proceeds to rescue organizations. Please check out her Etsy site here and her Facebook page here. Below are the necklaces that were crafted by Nadine and modeled reluctantly by Izzy.

Christmas, 2010 - My punkin wouldn't sit still, so I ended up with a bit of blur, but you get the idea.

I think this was the first necklace I ordered. It looks so elegant.
This was a "bonus" necklace that Nadine sent. The ladybug charm is perfect for Izzy and the red/black/white color scheme is so White Stripes (a band I will always love)

Our little Valentine
Please note that Nadine of Lilibell's Couture did not solicit this post, nor was I compensated in any way. I am simply sharing my experiences of buying from independent designers/sellers. Sharing the love, that's all!

These are beautiful. It's always interesting to see the creativity of others. Nadine has created an accessory that any dog would be proud to wear.

Awww Gail, I am tickled pink that you featured me!!! Am especially glad because I get to see pics of sweet Izzie, it's been too long since I've seen her and Sparky, I miss them!

I absolutely love that first picture of her, it's so old fashioned looking and I think it works very well with the angel charm.

Thank you Gail for your faith in me!!

Hugs, Nadine

your little model w/ her tongue out made me laugh.

That Hoo Shoo Too Road is superb – those golden trees at the edge of the water have wonderful colors and your photos show them well. The little dogs are cute as can be. Is the word “Geaux” a Cajun word? It looks French to me, but does not mean anything that I know of.

Well, these look lovely on Izzy, but I do have to admit I have never seen a necklace on a dog before. Thanks for showing off Izzy's jewels!! PS love that tongue!!

I cracked up at seeing Izzy in beautiful necklaces! As one who doesn't do dogs, I forget what today's special canines get from their loving owners. For some reason, I thought a narrow neckpiece might be more likely to catch on something....but I guess not??? Oh, Izzy! You are one adored dog, aren't you!

You are such a sweet friend. I went to her Etsy shop and oh my gosh, those are truly some pieces of art! I can't see Belle or Max wearing any of these, but I'll mention Nadine to my friends with cute little house dogs that stay clean!

I assume that you are never short of photo-opportunities when you have a dog!

Did not see any thing suspicious on the menus to account for the lack of cats and dogs! One day I'll tell you my "dog on the wedding menu" story!

If the truth be told I had never herd of a Francolin either before I went to Oman - you live and learn!

What lovely jewellery - but I can't see Oscar wearing anything like that.. ;-)

Beautiful! I don't have a baby but my neighbor does so will spread the links. BTW, I like it when bloggers share good stuff they've experienced. Those doggie necklaces are so pretty humans could wear 'em.

And, I finally found what I'd tucked away to share with you. Remember the argon post, i.e., skin stuff? Well, hub cured his problem with arnica. It was a fluke how we discovered this. Anyway, the arnica flower grows at high altitudes, is in the marigold family and, well, please google for more. Now, we'd been hauling salves back from Austria but on our trip to Vermont discovered the salves/creams are found in boutique type shops. Please check out Naturally Yours: www.vherbalgifts.com. And I saw an arnica cream at CVS the other day for about $4.99. There's a prescription cream, about $38.00, a pharmacist said is no better than OTC.

Anyway, hope all's going well on your end. Getting back into the groove here after a few bumps.
