Lake Martin Beauties

One beautiful Sunday in Breaux Bridge, LA last month. Are we almost halfway through the year already?!
Sunlit Primrose

I've never seen an alligator with his eye closed. Really love the pattern on the lid.

Carolina Wren eyeing me suspiciously.

Prothonotary Warbler

PW singing his heart out.
A Happy belated Mother's Day to all the mothers--even the ones with furry, four-legged children. God bless you each and every one!

Your post just says spring all over!

I can nearly hear that bird singing! All such lovely spring pictures. Still I'm surprised that the blackberries are already ripening. They won't be ready until late August or September in Oregon (that's good for us -- since we will actually BE there then.)

Every one of your shots is a gem. So focused and jewel-like.

The look on that Carolina Wren is so very expressive! She looks as if she is saying, "What are you doing here?"

The eye lids of the alligator are fascinating - I didn't know they look like that. They're actually beautiful. I love the little Carolina wren - wrens are such cute birds.

I just can't get used to your gators, Gail, lol! Beautiful shots. I see your Wrens have as much personality as ours do :) That warbler, be still my heart! Hope you had a great Mother's Day, my friend!

Oh yes, those eyelids - great shot! I've been wanting to get some gator shots, just haven't make it to Brazos Bend State Park. If I don't make it soon, I imagine when it gets hot they stay in the water?

Such beautiful flowers and birds. I like the sleeping gator too.

Adorable birds! The gators scared me a little.

I haven't been able to get around to visit 'til now. Sometimes, NO power, other times no cable. Phones have been shut off for emergency only since I can't keep it charges. What a dilemma. LOL

So...Gail, I want to send along my thanks for sharing this wonderful, bright and beautiful post with us at I'd Rather B Birdin' and say hello to you from Hootin' Anni's.

We've been flooded out around here ...yesterday, a virtual lake in our yard...it receded...but again today we were hit with another soaker...on saturated ground.

Hope you at LA are keeping dry.

sorry....charges=charged!

Well Gail, with that big funny black thing stuck to your face, I'm sure you do look suspicious to the Carolina Wren.

Take care,

Hi, Gail. I see you're still maintaining your high photographic standards here. That warbler is so bright it had me looking for my sunglasses. It's kind of hard to find beauty in a 'gator, but you did it.

Ida said...

That Warbler is so bright and cheery. Loved seeing the Gator eyes open and eyes closed.

Two belated wishes, Gail...for Mother's Day and your May birthday as well. I have faklen behind on blog reading due to family and moving issues, but looking at your photos is always such a delight. The warbler was so colorful and I wondered if the carolina wren was checking out that gator.

Love the shots of the Prothonotary Warbler, which I don't believe I have ever seen before!

Lovely selection of photos! Those shots of the alligator are great, and the birds are beautiful.

Nice catch, Gail, with the closed-eyed gate. There is a reptile park that the kids and I frequent, and I have noticed that occasionally they will not have eyes opened. I should ask about that.

Glad to see you still posting your fantastic images. Always impressive. I hope your weekend went well.
