Jefferson Island: The Great Egrets

Getting towards the end of what I plan to post of my SUPER FUN day at Jefferson Island's rookery. These are the great egrets, sometimes by themselves and sometimes hunting with others. They seem to be very social and graceful birds.

LOL...the one of the cattle egret walking atop the turtle shell cracked me up.

That fence/gate under the shade of the big trees is phenomenal.

every stinking day you wow me with the artistry of your photography.

you awe me.

you encourage me...but not today. Too hot to get out in the swamps with the skeeters this time of the year in Florida.

Super series, so hard to pick a fave but the one of them 'laughing' in the tree is sure good.

Check out all of those turtles....Looks like they were content with the Egrets walking all over them! I love the expectation of what I'll see when I stop by each day! Always Great!!

I'm happy to report that our old egret or perhaps his cousin is back at our neighbor's pond/ swamp nearly with all this tremendous rain. I really like your last photo, it should be on a cover of a book! What a story it could hold!

Beautiful and stunning shots of the Egrets. Loved your fence too. It looks a lot like the gate that I posted today. They are so ornate looking.

Wow; magnificent pictures of Egrets♡♡♡ Great Egret has a really long neck, don't they ;-) I think I can differentiate Egrets from 'Great' and 'Cattle' one p;) Sweet images of them with turtles♡♡♡
I LOVE the fence with black and white, too.

Sending you lots of love and hugs to my dear Japanese friend in America, xoxo Miyako*
