Regal

On May 5th we paddled at Greenwood Community Park, then birded afterwards. I was blessed with two neat birds that afternoon: the Eastern Kingbird (below) and the Black and White Warbler (future post and lifer). They were both occupying the same tree. What alerted me was their calls. I had not heard those sounds before, which made me stop and wait. That birding class really paid off. These shots will not be as crisp as my bird blind shots; however, I am happy with them. The light was a bit harsh in some instances, too, but I am no longer striving for perfection. Just a decent shot will do! My goal is to photograph every bird on my life list.

Have a great week everyone! Thank you for stopping by.

Thank you, Anni, for the wonderful meme!

The images look pretty sharp to me! What a great variety of shots, too.... and is that a lilac branch? Those heart-shaped leaves look so familiar.

These are great shots! He's a beauty. I think it's neat that you're trying for a photo for all your birds. You will have a beautiful collection, with lots of memories, I'm sure.

These make me happy too. Perfection was created by the devil...so glad you kicked him to the curb! I don't think your images have suffered.

Gail, your pictures continue to amaze me...you have a great eye and I had to see what type of camera and lens you used...nice! I have found the birds to be such a joy this spring...I love the idea of photographing all the birds I have seen. Time to make another folder on my computer! These are lovely!

A very handsome guy! Striving for perfection is admirable, but can also be a big distraction. And frustrating. Life's too short. I'm with you.

Hey there Gail....There is a big difference between a great photographer and a picture taker...I'm a picture taker and you are a GREAT photographer. These photos look clear to me, but I know that you are able to see what you say are light imperfections!! He is indeed a very cute fella...

What a cooperative bird! He gave you several great angles, and you did them all justice. Great photos, as always.
