Continuing on with my December 15th shoot, which was my second opportunity to photograph the tricolored heron.

the more nature we need.

the knobby knees and itchy head shots made me smile. he's just so beautiful!
So stylish - yellow boots and sunglasses to match!
A fine series on this beautiful bird. I like all the close ups with such good detail. Your capture of his/her color is excellent.

Wonderful captures of this beautiful bird!
The quote is absolutely true. But I'm glad we have high tech so you can share your wonderful images with us. That one pic of the heron where he looks like he has a topknot is so adorable. They all are wonderful.

This is a truly beautiful heron. Love those eyes!!
You have some great close-ups of this wonderful heron. I haven't seen one for a long time
I completely agree with that last quote...gorgeous gray blue colors in the heron.

Why I do believe he has been practising posing for you! Such wonderful shots, they made me smile.
I agree with many above. The third shot is very good. He is quite happy posing for you, isn't he. lol
Excellent shots and so close.
Gorgeous photos, Gail. Ohhh, but the eyes had me! The try-colored heron is a precious jewel in Nature's awesome crown!
Cool! I've never seen a tri-colored heron. Great pics!
Oh, these are so beautiful. You had a perfect day for this outing. I, too, love the third image. The last shot shows the incredible length of his neck. You'd have to be very careful scratching an itch with those feet, wouldn't you?
Definitely a true quote....What have we all gotten ourselves in to? While technology is wonderful...it sure robs us of so much life. You've got the best of both worlds... A place full of beautiful wildlife AND a great camera! Enjoyed the photos..
Such great shots, Gail! Are the tri-colored ones as shy as the Blue? I've told you about my ongoing quest to get close enough to actually photograph one!
It is a beautiful heron! Great photos Gail!
That is a handsome bird! Great shots!
Wonderful photos of the heron, Gail! I love the last photo. I've never seen one. I need to get out more. :)
These are great! You've given me a wonderful look the heron. I've never heard of a tricolored one. Love that quote, too. I really do crave nature.

I hope to capture a heron in my frame one day, wonder if it will be so good. :)

I too enjoyed the third shot - great portrait of Mr. Tri-Color.

I very much agree with the quote you included with this post! This heron seems almost tame.
So true about the quote! Love herons they are such graceful birds especially in their landing technique! Great photos!
Combine a beautiful setting with a gorgeous model.
Add a talented photographer.
The rest - is history!
