Butter Butts

A dear blogging friend told me about the nickname "Butter Butt" for the yellow-rumped warbler and now I can't refer to them any other way. I passed this knowledge on to my husband and he continually gets it wrong, saying 'butter balls' or 'yellow butts.' I no longer correct him; I know what he means.

Photos taken mid to end of December.

I've never seen one of those cute little butter butts. When I do I will know they are either butter butts, yellow butts, or butter cups. LOL

You know what they say, "butter makes everything better". Ok, I'll shut up now. Great shots of the little cuties.

I've seen the odd yellow rumpled warbler migrate through here spring and fall. I love them! Thanks for sharing the neat photo!

A sweet, little bird with a sweet nickname.

So cute..both the bird and the name...and the butter-butt shot perfectly shows why the nickname is perfect.

I love the nickname for this little cutie, and I smiled at the photo that captured the feature that led to the nickname.

I think Doubld D and Doug might have been twins separated at birth. Doug's been trying to remember what cormorants are called during our Florida vacation, and he's come up with some hysterical substitutions.
