Hiatus

Last Saturday on our way home from another failed hiking expedition, Double D and I noticed a sign for Global Wildlife Center in Folsom, Louisiana. Intrigued, and hoping to salvage what was left of the day, we decided to explore. As we got closer we started seeing deer of all types, hundreds of them, on acres and acres of green pastures. Then hubby pointed to a zebra. I was all, "What the what?!" Turning into the gates there were kangaroos and ostriches. My eyes widened to the size of Jupiter! All the wildlife calmly grazed, paying no attention to our vehicle. We arrived too late to take a tour, but we got to drive through the front section of the park, and these are the photos I was able to take from the car window. Autumn, I wish I had brought along the Apex Bean Bag you gave me!

As always, I appreciate your kind comments and cherish the relationships I've made from blogging. It has truly been a wonderful experience, for the most part. At this time, I shall be taking an extended, if not permanent break from blogging. If interested you can always find regular rantings on Twitter. My warmest and best to you all! God bless.

Awwwwwwww, Gail....you WILL BE missed. I was saddened to read the last paragraph!

Oh Gail I do hope everything is alright I think your photography is so beautiful you have such a talent.
I will hope you will return after a break I know I am going to miss you. I understand the commitment it takes to blog and sometimes we all have to step back and see what in our world we are missing by sitting in front of the computer. I do hope that is all it is for you.
HUGS lots of hugs. Keep photographing you are going to be big someday I just know it. More hugs. Gail. B

Prayers to you as you take some time away from blogging, you know you will be missed!

See, GOD knew just where to send you and that was to capture some of His awesome creations. Look at those sweet faces and perfect for kisses especially the sweet newborn.

GOD keep you and richly bless you with His peace.

Great images, Gail. I particularly like the close up that is so detailed.

Where will I be able to see your images? It would be a shame not to continue to share your wonderful talent.

I've lost my PW to Twitter. No smart phone, so I go online to view...or I did! Maybe I'll figure out how to get another one, as I'd hate to lose you!

Spectacular images, as always, Gail. I especially loved that wobbly-legged fawn.

It truly grieves me to think our short friendship could already be coming to an end. I pray that your hiatus will be a short one, although I do understand how easy it is to spend more time than we know we should at our computers. It's something I struggle with, too. Enjoy your time away from the blog, but don't give up on your photography! Blessings, my friend.

Giving up blogging? Well I have pretty much, but you? What did it?

BTW, I loved The Misremembered Man! Sad and funny. It reminded me that a smile can really make a person's day.

Although only arriving at your site recently, I have learned so much from you regarding photography. And you have inspired me to the point of considering swiping my husband's camera (with all the bells and whistles) to learn some of the techniques that you utilize in your art.

While I understand the need for respite, like many others, I hope it does not take you away from us forever. Do take the time that you need; it is the most un-selfish gift that you give others; a rested, peaceful self allows sharing the same with all.

Love and admiration, bj

Ohhh Gail!! As you know I've also been on a little break. But just read your post and hope that you don't shut down permanently!! I'll miss you!! I hope that you'll post maybe once a month and show your favorite shots!! I ALWAYS so enjoy your art. Like those deer. They are beautiful!! You have a wonderful talent of being able to tell a story with your pictures. They are National Geographic quality. You could easily make money by going around to the places you visit and make photo spreads for them. God Bless you Gail. Hope you visit again.

Nooo, Gail...!!! Well, looking at my sparse blogging I can absolutely understand that you want to take a break from blogging; there are only so many hours in a day... But please know that I'll miss you and your wonderful photos dearly, Gail! I've always loved reading your posts, they often made my day just by making me smile :-) So, quite egoistically, I hope that this hiatus is not a permanent one. Unfortunately, I'm not on Twitter, so I can't follow you. I wish you all the best, Gail, take care! And thanks so much for having being here, for having shared your view of the world, for being such a wonderful friend! I'll miss you!

Dear Gail,

These images are staggeringly beautiful! I am stunned by the clarity of the photos and also the character of the animals that you captured. Truly wonderful!

I am sorry to see you taking a break but I do understand. My blogging has been limited this year and challenging to keep up with.

I wish you all the very best and hope that we stay in touch.

love,

G

What a beautiful group of photos! There's a mother deer and her two little babies that like to travel through my parents' property...they're so fun to watch.

I've been quite a sporadic blogger lately myself, so I certainly understand your need to take a break. I do hope that it's a temporary one though :) xo
