Cedar Waxwings at
Waddill Wildlife Refuge on March 1, 2013. The last CW is from my back yard on March 6, 2013.

As I was leaving Waddill I noticed this cute little birdhouse nailed to a pine tree.
If only a bird could have been perched at the table! |
|
Double D was kind enough to fetch a ladder so I could get up higher.
They finally found our berry-laden holly trees, so I have a feeling that by tomorrow afternoon
there will be no berries left. I hope they don't get drunk and plow into the window like one did last year. |

Oh, what lovely shots - so spring-like and colourful!
Such beautiful shots of a beautiful bird...I love the ones where he has berries in his mouth.....
Have a great day....
This is the most lovely bird with the blending of the colors!! Perfect Zorro name!!
Love how you captured the bird with berry.. This is great photography.
And....that little bird house is adorable. How perfect would it have been to have the bird sitting there at that table? Hope you enter some of these shots in some photo contest!
What a pretty bird and such gorgeous shots of him!
I'm always amazed at how well you capture the light in your photos. Great job!
I love these guys. I don't get to see them often. Beautiful shots!
just awesome shots, full of color and life! the little picnic table made me laugh!
Oh these have to be my favourite bird to see. You are awesome at capturing those precious moments no matter what:) B
Cutest masked bandit ever!
Amazing pictures. These birds are good looking and your photography brings out the best in them.
Oh Gail, thank you! Sassy moi! hahahaha.
I love that the bird gets the whole berry in it's beak, like we would a whole apple or pear. hahahaha.
I LOVE YOUR PHOTOS, POSTS AND SENSE OF HUMOR. They are all great!!!!
These are wonderful. Love the catchlights in their eyes.
How I would love to see one of these around here!
Super shots there Gail which really captured all the colours of the Cedars. Your shots make my recent Bohemians look drab by comparison. It's wonderful to see you sticking with the bird shots and getting such results.
I feel like I'm right there in the tree with them! Fabulous!
Wonderful shots. The waxwings around here are skittish and wouldn't likely stay still for someone bringing and climbing a ladder. I'm very impressed. Your images are so vivid. Love that little bird house.. so cute.
These are really great shots! I liked this post very much.

Your Cedar Waxwing photos belong in a bird book. They are just gorgeous. Such detail and depth of color. The birdhouse is a hoot.
Each and every ONE is stunning!!! The lighting is so very perfect. Love the last one...and the shadow its making of itself and the light in its eye. Hypnotic.
Ohhhhhhhhh, I so hate to know a bird flew into a window. We have had that happen 'til I put transparent decals on the glass...we can't see them but the birds can.
wow.....such gorgeous birds !!
amazing shots, gail !!
Your photos sure do make my heart sign. They are gorgeous.
Hugs~
Oh my goodness how beautiful!!!
I forget that you are already having spring weather down there. Great colors.
Beautiful! Love the vibrant colors! The berries in the beak are great shots!
i know i repeat myself..but..YOUR PHOTOS ARE MARVELOUS!!!! YOU NEED TO HAVE THEM PUBLISHED!!!!
Fantastic and I love the little birdhouse.
Aren't they the most beautiful bird, though? So sleek and classy! And your images are wonderful.
These are such wonderful birds - I saw waxwings everyday once, for a week, and thats it! Never seen one since! I saw my first one while riding on a bus to work - I got out at the next stop - luckily my boss was a birder!
I'll keep working on the bats - but my bating average is low!
