Interview update and photos

The job interview with the CEO went...well...I'll let you decide. I might've talked too much, flubbed a couple of words, appeared tightly wound & overeager. All no-nos, no? Oh, and I left my purse in his office, not realizing it until I handed the receptionist my badge as I was leaving. That was a long walk back down that hall, lemme tell ya. DID I MENTION IT WAS THE CEO?! So, yeah, I just HAD to do something stupid. That's me, dork-extraordinaire! The purse-leaving may have put the kibosh on the deal. I mean, if it's between me and another girl who didn't do something stupid, and we're completely alike in every way, the only deciding factor has to be to axe the ditz who left her purse behind. Right?! On a more serious note he did tell me that 200 resumes came in for the position and he threw most of them out due to typos. I am one of eight he is considering, so I feel pretty good no matter what happens. Oh! And he disclosed that he changed the dress code banning pantyhose and ties. I wanted to high-five him right there on the pantyhose decision. I LOATHE those things. A no-pantyhose job 3 miles from my house? I could live with that!

Okay, enough of that nonsense. Here are some photos I've taken lately:

Izzy drooling as I drink my morning coffee. She may be expecting a teeny-tiny sip. Not sure why. ;-)

You are totally rocking those dragonfly shots. I'm jealous! Good luck on the job - are there really places that expect you to wear pantyhose? I'd never make it!! The purse thing might get you the job - he'd always have something to tease you about!

well, i'm hopeful that the CEO thinks your chatter and your leaving the purse are endearing - meaning you can be smart, efficient but human, too!

The dragon flies are so detailed, like she is delicately holding the bud. Almost comical looking as well. EnJOYed your shots.

Brilliant photos, especially the dragonflies. Your job interview, well maybe he will remember you all the more. One out of eight, you did well to get to interview stage. A job so close to home would be wonderful.

Was trying to figure out where you live to have dragonflies in May, then I saw the lizard and stopped trying to guess! Beautiful captures.

Good luck with the job prospect. I'd rather work for a someone with a sense of humor than one who's rigid and uptight.

It wouldn't be a successful interview if there wasn't at least one boo-boo!

Omg... Outstanding photos! I love the dragonfly. How about those eyes!! I know that you did a great job with your interview and if this is what God has planned for you, then leaving your purse is NO big deal. Trust Him!
Can't wait to hear!! Have a fantastic Sunday. Hugs!!

I'm convinced those so called thoughtless acts impressed the lowly CEO.

He or she has the responsibility of directing an organization, but he relies on the pros to get it all done.

Speaking of PROS, you nailed those dragonflies...wow! They pop!!!

Well, just send Mr. CEO these photos and you will be hired, I guarantee!

Amazing, Gail. And good luck with the job.

Thanks for sharing at YSB this week. xoxo

TexWisGirl expressed exactly what I was thinking. Don't worry.. how could they not hire you. Imagine though, if he could see your beautiful photography.. he'd think you're perfect. Wonderful shots.. just wow!

Sigh...someday, when I grow up, I hope to be able to take such great photos!! (not to mention, learn how to edit them in PSE...grrr)

I'm thinking that a) one of 8...good odds!
b) leaving the purse may have just been the "thing" that puts your name in his head when making the final hire
c)Pantyhose?! OMG...I haven't worn those irritating things in years and would have to REALLY want the job to consider that torture again!

I always love visiting you and looking at your amazing photos! I showed them to my son, knowing he would like the bugs and lizards.

I wouldn't worry too much about the job interview. You may think you talked too much and were overeager, but perhaps it came off as friendliness. And perhaps you'll be remembered even more because of the purse thing. Anyway, best of luck. When do you find out if you got the job?

Hi Gail, it seems my issue with Blogger has cleared up and I'm able to get back on, which is a good thing because I've missed your gorgeous pictures!

Chewy drools too whenever we eat supper, lol!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement!!

@Jacki, I tried to reply to your comment but your blogger profile and email is inaccessible, so I'll answer here. A good tripod is a necessity. Also, I normally put my focus point in the center and focus on the eyes or head. Depending on the light available I use the lowest ISO I can get away with like 200 or 400, but sometimes 800. I also take a LOT of photos to ensure a few good ones. Still, I'm never quite satisfied. Recently, I calibrated my lens to my Canon 50d, so that might help me achieve crisper shots. Good luck and I hope you make your blog public so I can visit!

Nadine, so happy blogger is cooperating for you. Good to see you!!

Fingers crossed for you Gail, and AMEN to the "no pantyhose."

Your dragonfly shots are superb, but little Izzy always captures my heart. What a cutie!

Congratulations on a well-spelled resume. I'm always reminding my granddarlings to use proper grammar and be punctual (they wait to the last second to get in the car, saying that that might be difference in getting or not getting a job - I'll add spelling to my spiel!

Love the images...it's like being right there. Especially love the water drop at end of Izzy's tongue!

I'm wishing the job for you!

Gail, those dragonflies are gorgeous! What lens are you using? Pantyhose? I quit wearing pantyhose back in the 80's! LOL! Hate 'em! Wishing you much luck on the job!
