The cormorants are not happy. Okay now, you two! None of that funny stuff! |
Hey! This is a family lake. There are youngsters on this log. |
You two should be ashamed! Kids, look the other way. Turtles, go back in your shells! |
We're sorry... |
Shameful!! We don't need your kind around here. Scat! |
Oh, all right. Don't get your feathers in a bunch. We're leaving. Hmph! |
We're outta here. Buh-bye! |
And stay out! Good riddance! |
Linking to Wild Bird Wednesday and I'd Rather B Birdin'. Many thanks, Stewart and Anni!

These are absolutely beautiful shots! They look like friends :)
Made me smile early this morning....
I love how the turtles sit so still and jut mind their own business...
It's wonderful to be able to capture a series of shots that really do tell a story...
Great photos!!
Have a GREAT day
Yeah, get a room. Fun post, Gail.
Go to a wrong room.
Better knock before enter.
X rated pelicans! LOL Fabulous shots Gail!
too funny! the cormorant scoldings were great! :)
These are incredible!
Rofl....this was just too funny - thanks for a good laugh this morning. Great shots!
Beauty and humor, together in this post, Gail! Delightful to see.
Wonderful study of co-existence...kind of! Ha...I'm still laughing at the captions.
Excellent photos. Around here the turtles eat baby ducks. Dianne
Oh so there are cliches in animals groups too. So funny.
Yes, we had had snow a few times but it all melts. Yay. We even had snow in October. I sure hope this winter is mild. It would mean a drought of a summer but heavy deep snow was last year and I don't want that repeat.
(hug) to you girlfriend.
I loved your story line ... The expressions on their faces went perfectly with your dialog. Actually the Cormorants hang with the Pelicans ... they even migrate together. I think they have a symbiotic relationship by hleping each other locate schools of fish on the lakes. Up here where there is one, somewhere near by will be the other. Nature does work in interesting ways. Great post ...

It's very instructive to see those species togther Gail. Alone you might think either species is quite big but togteher gives a whole new meaning to "size matters". Great sequence pictures.
I love the Pelican! Great shots of the Cormorants and the Pelicans!
Oh sweet Gail, I am speechless :) haha Great photos, friend!
Seriously pelicans, getta room willya? Or at least go to the end of the line.
Gail, all your photos are beautiful!
Greetings from Holland
Great shots, and your story lines to go with them were priceless!
Hahahahah! I loved the taglines on the pictures Gail. Made me laugh :) They look like they were in their own world enjoying a romantic little moment. The Titanic pose in the first picture is just precious! Loved it! Much love :)
I like the pictures, but it is the story lines which make them even more special. AN to think you were photographing all this 'action'. LOL
Terrific images!!! The lighting in these photos makes your images picture post card perfect Gail.
This might have been nothing more than a set of amazingly beautiful photographs, if it weren't for your witty commentary. So cute. I think my favorite was the 5th one, with the cormorant "lecturing" the shame-faced pelicans.
Love those white pelicans --- Go ahead -- Make more :-}}
Wonderful series, Gail! Each of these photos say way more than 1,000 words. ;)
Just found this, Gail. Amazing photography, and a story that put a big grin on my face! Thank you!
Oh my gosh..too funny!
An awkward moment, but always nice to catch and photograph. And it makes for great commentary! The only time I've seen pelicans was during a trip to Florida.
Darned funny!!! Must tell you of a similar experience my teacher sister had last week: Mule deer are abundant in our city limits and bucks are in rut right now. My sister had a class full of freshmen and right outside the window a buck was following a doe. Attempting to dodge a "situation," my sister told her students to turn around and watch the classroom door because the principal was going to be dropping in. While they did that, my sister quickly closed the blinds covering all 4 of the big windows. She said she knew she would never get control of her class again if the buck completed his mission!:-)
Funny!!! Great captures!
Hysterical! Absolutely gorgeous shots!
That was so funny! I am giggling out loud. You are so good (well, a little bit naughty, but a darn good photographer).. thanks so much for sharing!!!!
