It's been so hot and windy here lately that I haven't photographed anything worthy to share. I've been wanting to show you my agapanthus, but the wind is wreaking havoc with their portraits. The heat really zaps me. I wilt like a piece of lettuce over a pot of hot water. Perhaps my trip to Portland will inspire me. I'm leaving Thursday, so this will likely be my only post this week. I have a lot left to do to get ready, plus dealing with some family drama, so I'll try to catch up with y'all next week. Be good and stay safe. My heart is heavy for those affected by the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma and the Midwest. :(
Below are some shots from the archives.

Look at those crazy eyes. I felt sorry for this horse as I hate to see animals cooped up in stalls or cages. You can see where he's chewed the front of his stall. |

i nice bunch all the way through.
good luck with your trip! hope you enjoy it!
Have a great trip, love the shots of the horses and the baby bird is so cute. If only horses could roam free.
Baby birds are so cute. I hate to see a horse wood chewing- when my son was showing, his horse did that.
Darling Starling! Have wonderful visit with your daughter!
Not sure which is my favorite picture. Great details on the berries, but the horses eye is spectacular.
Hope you have a relaxing trip. I'm with you when it comes to the hot temps....I need coolness. Enjoy!
Great shots, love that starling! Enjoy your trip!
The shots of the birds put a smile on my face!
Have a safe trip and take lots of photos. Oregon right? I'd love to visit that state as we might want to retire there.
BTW, you should be getting a package from me soon...
Wonderful, every one! Love that eye-of-the-horse shot. The baby starling and the klutzy baby downy made me smile.
I feel sorry for that horse!!! The other photos are beautiful! sandie
Nice shots. Have a nice trip, the weather should be good. Are you going to the Rose festival parade?
Every shot is wonderful, Gail! Have a lovely trip :)
Hugs to you!
What sweet shots. That baby woodpecker photo is priceless!
Enjoy your trip!
How sweet these photos are.. Michelle
What great photos! I feel bad for that horse though. Hope you have a good trip! xo
Safe journey and I hope you have a wonderful time! (sans drama)
Great shots all the way through but the grumpy-looking starling and clumsy woodpecker babies really made me smile.
Love the eye shot of the horse...that is awesome. Have an awesome trip to see your family and above all, stay safe. Big hugs, xoxo
Beautiful shots, Gail! Enjoy your trip!
Thank you Gail for the lovely photos. That horse's eye!!!!!!! OMyGosh!!!! You are such a great photographer!!!
Have a nice trip and travel safely. I'll miss you, but have a nice time, okay? Thanks for saying that the sparkles and the outfit all went together. Sometimes I strike gold. hahahaha.
And, just to let you know as HM and I were walking into the restaurant across the parking lot, he decided to plant a kiss on me and that made our stride off balance so we started wavering as we walked. He said, "they are going to think we are drunk before we even get in there". hahahaha (and we don't drink!)
I especially love the horse shots!
can't help but laugh at your "comical babes" Gail. What a shame about the horse chewing the stable like that - something I never imagined a horse might do but it does make sense now, thanks to your pointing it out.
Fantastic shots! I love the eye of the horse! And the field is just gorgeous! Have fun on your trip!
Great shots, Gail - love the bird photos.
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement Gail, it's a shame your daughter stopped blogging, perhaps she will take it up another day.
Have a safe and great trip, Gail! I love the horse shots and the birds. The woodie and cardinal is my favorite. Have a great evening and happy week!
What a great gallery!!! (Horses with lots of space in fenced areas also chew on wood....) Have a wonderful time in my part of the US (can't say my part of the state since you'll be more than 300 miles to the west!).
All photos are spectacular!
The horse, I read what you said, I am so tenderhearted I could not look further. I do not believe in caging animals. Nor do I believe in Sea World, Zoo's and so on!
I absolutely abhor animal cruelty.
I love all of these!
That little starling is so precious! I feel sorry for the downy.
Safe travels and have fun!
Hope all goes well, Gail. Love the poor woodpecker on the fence. All are perfection.
Hope your trip to Portland is for pleasure!! And enjoy!! Be safe, return home soon. You'll be missed.
Love the close up of the horse's eye and the poor woodie having such difficulty!!
Very sad for the horse. I hope your visit is very special for you and your daughter.
I'm too late to wish you Bon Voyage and to tell you t take a winter coat. (It has turned cold, according t my daughter!) I'm sure yours will lend you a jacket. And I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time no matter what temp!
I love these especially the birds...
Hope you're having a wonderful time in Portland! Beautiful images, as usual. Sorry you're having to deal with family drama. Sigh.
That horse has chewed the wood because he needs minerals.
A very nice group of pictures! Adorable picture of the baby woodpecker loosing his grip! Momma cardinal is thinking that she's glad he's not a bird of her feather!!
Have a wonderful and safe trip.
