Finally at rest...

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay.
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord

Hope to be back to blogging and visiting everyone soon. Right now I'm overwhelmed and also a bit numb. My love and appreciation for each of you is immeasurable.

Oh girl, I wish I could wrap up your hurt and take it away for you.

I've been thinking about you. Left you another comment on the previous post, probably just as you were finishing this one <3

Beautiful slideshow. Beautiful tribute to your Mom and a life well lived and well loved. I hope the making of it was a little bit of cathartic healing for you.

You're in my heart, friend xoxo

I missed the last couple of post Gail. What a week you've had, two weeks by the look of it. We never know where the path ahead will lead us. You were all prepared for the long haul when it was suddenly cut very short. I'm sure you are ever so grateful to have had the last few months caring for your mum and filling her days with love. Take all the time you need.....

my goodness, a captivating tribute, what I was able to play. i will go back and try later. (my computer)

you present with such panache, compelling, you loved her, cared for her, shared her, and set the stage for her memory to abide.

good mothers of her era, in the south, trained from birth to marry, raise a family, show every hospitality, and be discreet. good daughter's from these mother's turn to care for them, without regret. something of the mother lives on in the daughter's.

you remain in my thoughts and prayers. she has made her journey, she completed well, she is at rest, she is at peace.

god bless. ((hugs))

Wonderful pictorial memoriam, Gail. I didn't realize that your mother was so young; my own mother is now 91, and I'm only a few years younger than your mother. May you find peace and comfort.

Having just lost my mother and missing her terribly, I know how you are feeling right now. As each day passes, I'm a little more at peace, knowing that Mom is not struggling and in pain any more.
My heart goes out to you in your time of grief.

Oh Gail, I'm so very, very sorry to hear this. I've been away from Blogger for a while, but kept meaning to send you a message to see how your Mom was doing.

You can be comforted in the fact that you were with your Mom to the end, and now she is at peace with God up in Heaven. I wish I could be there right now to give you a hug, but will have to settle on sending you a virtual hug. I will keep you in my prayers.

Love and Hugs, Nadine

I had to run over to check on you, my friend, you've been on my heart and mind. So sorry that your mother slipped away. You were such a wonderful daughter to make so many sacrifices to care for her in her final days and I'm sure she appreciated it and loved you all the more. Your tribute was beautiful. I loved her pink swim cap and especially loved the final photo. You have a wonderful treasure of memories. God bless you.

Gail, I'm sorry for you and I know the grief you are feeling. How wonderful that you could be there for your mother in these last days. I've seen your love for her in your many posts about her since I first "met" you online. I felt privileged to watch your sweet video tribute to her life.
I'm really glad to know that though you ache and are probably worn out right now, you have a Comforter to get you through this. Will be praying for you and all of your family.

Hello everyone! I am still here and doing okay, but my plate is pretty full these days. Indeed, the sorrow has been heavy, but it doesn't overwhelm. As soon as I get settled into my new home in Baton Rouge I will get back to visiting and maybe blogging. Yes, I moved here permanently and LOVE it!

I appreciate the care and concern from each of you the last few months. Your words really lifted me up on days when I felt the world was going black. God bless you!! I'm so sorry I have not been present, but that will change soon! I hope everyone is doing well. My goal is to start visiting you all next week. Fingers crossed!
