Lake Martin Beauties

One beautiful Sunday in Breaux Bridge, LA last month. Are we almost halfway through the year already?!
Sunlit Primrose

I've never seen an alligator with his eye closed. Really love the pattern on the lid.

A Happy belated Mother's Day to all the mothers--even the ones with furry, four-legged children. God bless you each and every one!

God's Artistry

While my big lens was at Canon being repaired, I took advantage of playing with my macro lens. Louisiana is full of unusual, and sometimes beautiful, insects. At least I think so! I've thrown in some plants for those that aren't into bugs.

Sweat bee on Daisy Fleabane

I've learned a life lesson by observing and photographing bugs: Once I realized how God poured so much artistry, detail, and thought into each creature, they've become difficult to despise or swat away. Carrying that same thought out to people, if we really and truly got to know them, wouldn't that knowledge make it harder to push them aside or ignore? Maybe I'm not articulating this right, but I feel I'm onto something! :) We don't take the time to SEE. Do y'all get what I'm saying?

Airborne

Studied and stalked these cute little Carpenter Bees and some other kind of bee. I realize your definition of 'cute' may be different from mine. *smile* I was thrilled to get some freeze-action airborne shots.

Thank you, Jesus for all this pollen!

My cheering section. Or so it seems.
I've been working this week and will work three days next week, so blogging has taken a hit once again. At this point, I need to stop apologizing. There are going to be times when blogging takes a back seat. I know it will mean less visitors, but it can't be helped. I need to earn as much money as I can between now and next September for my daughter's wedding. Plus, when family gets sick, that is a major priority. My dad's wife has been released from the hospital, but is still going through more tests. I don't think the doctors around here are at the same caliber as the ones in Dallas. But at least we haven't seen Ebola here. Yet, anyway. Very scary. God bless all those infected and the medical teams taking care of them.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. I am sharing this post with Eileen's Saturday's Critters.

Blooms, Birds and More!

I've been meaning to post these since the end of April. So, without further delay, here we go!
Can anyone help ID this flower?

I think this is a Cosmos.

Walking trail at Bluebonnet Swamp.

Indigo Bunting

Juvenile or female Indigo Bunting.
Spring is such a confusing time for identification.

Leucy the leucistic Cardinal.
On a completely different note, do any of you like jigsaw puzzles? If so, there's an app for that! It's called...can you guess? Jigsaw Puzzle! They offer a free puzzle of the day and several other free ones to choose from. You can select the number of pieces from 4 to 400, background color, the ability to scatter pieces, show only the edges, etc. Oh, you can even choose one of your own photos. I have lost countless hours and a few bucks buying new collections. It's totally addictive! Don't hate me. You have been warned. :)

Enjoy your weekend!! See y'all on Monday.
