ReplyDeleteWhoa! Gorgeous captures all!
ReplyDeleteLoved the array.
ReplyDeleteKudos!
Love this...I search and search and search for some spoonbills breeding here, to no avail. So, I am really enjoying this Gail.
ReplyDeleteThe anhinga is a new one for me. Love them all!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Gail.....
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend was a good one!! I'm with Roan, I've not heard of the anhinga. It's feathers have a slick look to them. The pink on the spoonbill always catches my eye...so very pretty.
I'll be passing through your state at the end of the week...only wish that we were going to be traveling down your way.
enjoy a blessed day!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the vicarious trip to Jefferson Island.
ReplyDeleteThe cattle egret is El Magnifico. Still in love with the Spoonbills. I know it is hot and miserable in the summer. My Ex was stationed at Fort Polk, which he called Ft. Puke.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great series this has been. YOur photography is superb, Gail.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you took so many wonderful pictures of these birds. Otherwise I might not ever see them in their full beauty.
ReplyDeleteJaw dropping captures Gail! Your in-flights are marvellous!

ReplyDeleteI really do see a little green with envy though lol ...
ReplyDeleteTruly amazing pictures and beautiful spoonbills!
My compliments.
Hi Gail,
ReplyDeletereally some impressive birds you took! Every now and then you may see some grey herons or some white storks here in the south of Germany, but generally we have much smaller and less colorful birds here in our region compared to Louisiana!
Have a great new week,
thanks for your kind comment,
Uwe.
All of these images are beautiful but that Roseate Spoonbill in flight is breathtaking... that wingspan and detail you captured is magnificent!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive pictures. I love the flight shots. Those wings are spectacular in each one.
ReplyDeletei had a favorite, then another, then another....

ReplyDeleteHow I would LOVE to go birding with you! Wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteJust spent some time looking at all the photo posts centered on your Jefferson Island and such spectacular shots, as always...the variety of bird life is amazing and shown off so beautifully through your captures.
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! Your photographs of flying birds are incredibly GORGEOUS☆☆☆ Yes, I enjoyed every pictures; haha, I cannot differentiate birds like you and your friends but slowly I'll try my best p;) My favorite (if I can) is Roseate spoonbill flying shot, just amazing. I wonder if you ever thought about publishing a book,Gail (or you've already have).
ReplyDeleteI hope you all are having a wonderful new week.
Sending you lots of Love and Hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
I love how they all nest near one another. Animals are typically most protective around their young {and food!} so the fact that these different species will nest so closely together really says a lot. I'm sad to see your series end, Gail, it's been amazing! Looking forward to what you have to share next!!!
ReplyDeleteMagnificent nature shots for OWT ~ birds are so beautiful ~ thanks, xoxo

ReplyDeleteWonderful! I particularly like the second one w/the pair.
ReplyDeleteI am so in awe of your photos! You could get a job as a wildlife photographer!
ReplyDeleteWonderful as always. (You better go back there when the weather is better ... it's a magic island I think!) Something so cool about seeing two different birds sharing the same tree ... it always fascinates me.
ReplyDeleteMy, My!!! Amazing shots. The spoonbill and heron in flight! I'm amazed how you do it!! Excellent!!
ReplyDeleteI agree Gail....wow! and are these birds nesting in the same tree? Beautiful birds I have never seen before!!
