Wild Bird Wednesday! Although I don't usually have anything exotic to show, it remains a meme close to my heart. I really enjoy seeing birds from all over the world.
Discovered this cute little fella behind the levee on River Road while watching the eagles last Sunday. This little guy caused me to miss one of the eagle parents bringing a fish to the nest. That's the second time I've missed the eaglets' feeding time, dangit! Oh, well, I'm sure they'll be in the nest for a few more weeks. This was my first sighting of a Song Sparrow. It's always exciting to see a new bird!
On the way home I stopped off at a local park. Hearing bongos and tribal type music, I looked down the hill and off into the distance was a belly dancer and musicians. Sometimes when I go birding, I see random things that have nothing to do with birds. I take the picture and then don't know what to do with it, so here you go! Looks like hippie days are returning to the park that I used to frequent as a teenager, when I was up to no good. Ah, the circle of life.
Birds are always a delight to see but that chance sighting of the people in the park is a real treat.
ReplyDeleteOh giggle, the park photos are too funny. The pretty little sparrow pics are so sweet. He is a cutie. Keeping my fingers crossed you capture the eaglets' feeding time. I bet that is something to see!!

Two worlds collide Gail. There's you with your camera concentrating on that Song Sparrow and the other guys who wouldn't notice a Bald Eagle if it flew right overhead. A good contrast in subjects you found there. I'm sure the eagles will still be around - even better the chicks will be bigger!

It is soooo windy here, that one does not dare step outside with a camera...afraid the wind will blow it out of my hands! ha!
Sure wish our area was full of places to capture such good pictures..just lots of pines and cement.

The little song sparrow is so perfectly camouflaged that it's a wonder that you even saw him, let alone got such crisp photos of him. As for the folks in the park...well, they made for an interesting and colorful photograph. :)

Bongos and bellydancers! What a cheerful thought on an evening when the light has mostly leaked out of the sky, only to be followed by wintry tears of snow.

ReplyDeleteYour little fella is so cute. I used to think we had lots of sparrows here in the desert. But at my feed it is usually finches. They look a lot alike to me. Except my redheaded little fella.. I learn so much when I pop in here.

Beautiful birds to be certain. Those would be awesome in black and white. So does that mean when I come out to go on this photo adventure with you I need to wear my Ren. Garb?
