More Zorro

Cedar Waxwings at Waddill Wildlife Refuge on March 1, 2013. The last CW is from my back yard on March 6, 2013.

As I was leaving Waddill I noticed this cute little birdhouse nailed to a pine tree.
If only a bird could have been perched at the table!

Double D was kind enough to fetch a ladder so I could get up higher.
They finally found our berry-laden holly trees, so I have a feeling that by tomorrow afternoon
there will be no berries left. I hope they don't get drunk and plow into the window like one did last year.

  4. Love how you captured the bird with berry.. This is great photography.
And....that little bird house is adorable. How perfect would it have been to have the bird sitting there at that table? Hope you enter some of these shots in some photo contest!

  10. Oh Gail, thank you! Sassy moi! hahahaha.

I love that the bird gets the whole berry in it's beak, like we would a whole apple or pear. hahahaha.

  13. Super shots there Gail which really captured all the colours of the Cedars. Your shots make my recent Bohemians look drab by comparison. It's wonderful to see you sticking with the bird shots and getting such results.

  15. Wonderful shots. The waxwings around here are skittish and wouldn't likely stay still for someone bringing and climbing a ladder. I'm very impressed. Your images are so vivid. Love that little bird house.. so cute.

  18. Each and every ONE is stunning!!! The lighting is so very perfect. Love the last one...and the shadow its making of itself and the light in its eye. Hypnotic.

Ohhhhhhhhh, I so hate to know a bird flew into a window. We have had that happen 'til I put transparent decals on the glass...we can't see them but the birds can.

  26. These are such wonderful birds - I saw waxwings everyday once, for a week, and thats it! Never seen one since! I saw my first one while riding on a bus to work - I got out at the next stop - luckily my boss was a birder!

I'll keep working on the bats - but my bating average is low!
