Least Sandpipers

Least sandpipers with winter plumage spotted in Madisonville, LA on the shoreline of the Tchefuncte (cha-FUNK-tah) River. Thanks to Wally Jones who posted this species on his blog, helping me to identify my shots.

    Love, love, LOVE these images. Gail...I seriously think you should try and get your photos published in magazines!! With the likes of National Geographic, or maybe Birds and Blooms. Your photos are always outstanding!!

    I think I might have some(not-so-good) pictures of this little guy...I will have to check, maybe that will be one more shorebird I can actually identify.

    Love the pattern in the feathers. He blends in really well with his environment; hope that means he's not on the food chain.
