Finally at rest...

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay.
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord

Hope to be back to blogging and visiting everyone soon. Right now I'm overwhelmed and also a bit numb. My love and appreciation for each of you is immeasurable.

Hanging On

I deeply appreciate the care and concern on my last post. I am also thankful for the caring emails and it is killing me that I'm unable to respond to them. I've been stuck at the hospital with only my iPhone for internet. My eyes aren't that great so I was hoping soon to go home and update you and hopefully give good news.

Unfortunately, that is not the case.

Yesterday I made the horrendously difficult decision to remove my mother's life support. The dr. thought she'd be gone in a few hours, but here we are 16 hours later and she is still hanging on.

I've been blessed with the support of family and friends throughout this ordeal. We are in a Catholic hospital so my mother has had lots of annointings, prayers, and rosaries said for her. She loves this faith and so this has been a great comfort.

Thank you all deeply for caring and I will touch base with each one of you very soon. God bless.

Get Well Wish

Mama, no matter what happens after all the trauma we've been through this week, I'll always remember you as a beautiful, gracious, southern lady. But please hurry and get well. I feel painfully lost without you. God, I could really use a miracle right now. And if I only get one, I'd like to use it here. Thank you.

The Language of Windrush Gardens

Having a little fun today. :)

Hey down there! Anybody have some deodorant I can borrow?
(Statue: Wounded Amazon)

Perhaps after my bath, darling.
(Statue: unknown)

Can't you see I'm deep in thought here? Stop pestering me! You've been like that for a century, anyway.
(Statue: Young Hermes)

This ivy is a cool adornment, don't you think?

Hermes: That Wounded Amazon reeks!

Zeus: You're telling me!

I think I'm too far away to help you, Amazon!
(Statue at Barton Arboretum just outside Windrush Gardens)
No can do. I'm part of the grape harvesting team!

Sorry, I'm busy with my grape harvest. Perhaps some flowers will grow up around you and mask the smell.

Camelia

Never fear! Hippomenes to the rescue! Here, catch!!

Forward! March!

Tell me, George, how did we end up in this swampy mess?

Stop complaining Stella and follow me. We'll ask this fella perched on the branches if we should stay or go.

It's not that bad, guys. Just give the swamp a chance.

Mrs. Photographer, can you cease with the annoying clicks? You're scaring me, therefore, I refuse to pose for you! Scram, okay?!

Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for visiting (and humoring) me today!!
