Rip Van Winkle Gardens

Here it is, August 16, 2015, and I've finally run out of scheduled posts. Looking through my archives I realized that I never posted my Mother's Day pics. Boy, I have really been slacking on my blog and picture sharing this year. So let's get to it!

We spent a delightful Mother's Day at Rip Van Winkle Gardens in New Iberia, LA. Cafe Jefferson, located on the property, overlooks Lake Peigneur. We chose a table near the water and enjoyed a delicious, sinful meal. The Live Oaks, roaming Peacocks and meticulously manicured grounds made you feel as though you might run into Scarlett O'Hara at any moment. I do declare!







"Seafood Heaven"
Creamy basil sauce with jumbo shrimp, crabmeat chunks and crawfish.
OH. MY. GOODNESS!

White Chocolate Bread Pudding
served with white chocolate and raspberry sauce



In less than three weeks my daughter will be married! Next Monday will be my last scheduled post until I return. Hopefully, I'll have plenty of photos to share of our 10 days in Portland.

    I absolutely love the close-ups of the peacock...the first one, especially, where all you can see is his head and spread tail feathers. And the last one, with his little "umbrella." Amazing birds. I like the black-and-white shot of the woman in the wheelchair, too. And the bread pudding looks wonderful!

    An exciting time for you looking forward to your daughter's wedding :) these are great pics. All of them are but the detail in your peacock portrait is amazing. Thanks for stopping by my salmon recipe post. My husband doesn't like salmon either and he asked for cod when I make it for him. I'm sure it would go great with Mahi Mahi.

    Those peacock feathers must be a load to drag around. They are very inefficient but demonstrate what guys must go through to attract the ladies. :)

    Wow!! That second picture, the close-up of the peacock, is absolutely amazing. I'd frame it and hang it up :) I love it!
    What a wonderful place you've visited there.
    Things can get very busy at times and it's so difficult then to make time for blogging. But don't you worry, we're here waiting for you and are looking forward to your fabulous pictures :)

    Wow !!!! The most beautiful picture I find two pictures. Gorgeous as you gefootgrafeerd the colors in the tail of the peacock! Really great nicely done. Your first picture is also quite nice with richly decorated portal. Moreover, I also see mjammie delicious food .......
