Bees and Blooms

Remember the pregnant girl who picked stole flowers from our local arboretum? To answer those that asked, yes there was a sign. More than one.

Anywho...enough of the flower thief. Onto prettier things.

Out of focus, but I love the way he pulled the petals around his head.

Enjoy the weekend, y'all! See you on Monday. I'll leave you with this:

"If you love a flower, don't pick it up.
Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love.
So if you love a flower, let it be.
Love is not about possession.
Love is about appreciation."
Osho

  3. Gorgeous photos as always, Gail. Bumblebees were very rare here this summer and I don't know exactly why but it bothers me...:(

  5. Bees, as how they are named, are always busy.

  6. Your photos are absolutely stunning, Gail! I love them! And it's just too bad that she didn't pay any attention to the sign!

  8. Hello, my dear lady! The flowers are like sunshine...there is no sun shining here because we have been getting snow {which I don't mind}, but seeing your blossoms have "brightened" my day :)

Lovely photos, sweet Gail. As for the sign, she should have paid closer attention, but since she didn't she should have been VERY thankful to you for pointing it out since it's regarded as theft!

    Love and hugs!

  9. Bees and Blooms - this is what is already gone for 2014 here in Germany although we had and still have a very mild fall.
Your yellow some kind of sunflower is my favorite in your today's post!
    Enjoy a great weekend,
all the best from gray, but mild Germany,
    Uwe.

  18. Beautiful, Gail! You wonder how they fly with the pollen weighing them down. The yellow flower shot is an amazing burst of color - well done! Have a JOYfilled weekend, my friend!

  20. Wonderful bee shots, especially the petals around the head one -- didn't notice it was out of focus, was just so enamoured with the behavior and that you caught it. I always say I steal flowers (but only photographically). Sometimes I give the neighbors a picture of their beautiful flowers just to pay them back.

  23. That's a great quote Gail, and so true!! You did the right thing with the flower picking girl, even if there were no signs, I appluad you for that!!

These images are stunning, I would be thrilled to get one as good as your out of focus one ;)

  24. Thanks for the follow-up, Gail. That bee was outstanding inasmuch as they are not my favorite insects; wasps are my very least favorite!

  25. Beautiful quote and very fitting!!! One last thought on that topic....I love flowers and I often have cut flowers in our home....however, there is a huge difference between picking garden flowers, and picking flowers in a public place that is meant to be enjoyed by MANY people. (Especially when there is a sign that request the flowers not be picked)
    Beautiful pics Gail....always!

  32. we see folks in state parks & national parks who do pick flowers .... usually the kids ... & i am dying inside ... do their parents realize the issue or the problem with what their little cutie just did? probably not. i always wonder ... how do nicely say ... do you realize you could go to JAIL for that? just wondering?
