Have a Heart

Or several. :)



I promise I won't bore y'all with the horrid details of our plumbing disaster yesterday. Just suffice it to say that one doesn't truly appreciate the value of functional plumbing until it malfunctions and sewage ends up in your tubs and shower. What a helpless feeling! The problem? Tree roots growing into the line. I love our trees, but I have to admit I was ready to call an arborist to cut them down. At least the ones next to the house.

Trying to put the plumbing nightmare behind me and get ready for our fun weekend. Starting today we have a full schedule with two days in Vacherie, LA with family, and one day in St. Francisville with a sweet friend.

I'm hoping that next week will settle down so I can get back into the blogging routine. A few days ago I was depressed and lonely, and now my cup runneth over. Feast or famine! That's the way my life seems to unravel.

If any of you are prayer warriors, please say one for my daughter and her fiancee who are both flying to London today for a wedding. With all the planes gone missing or bombed lately, this mama is a tad nervous.

    Glad to see that you didn't lose heart over the plumbing issues. We've been having a few of them around here too.. but more in the way of leaks.

    I hope the plumbing problems are solved.
    Safe travel for your daughter,i hope so.
    My son was left Thursday for holidays , fortunately arrived safely, but there follows a return trip.

    Love your photos! Thumbs down to plumbing problems. I can understand your nervousness about your daughter flying, but when I think about it, I just have to keep reminding myself it's still the safest way to travel.

    The same thing happened with our plumbing several years ago...tree roots. It was aggravating, expensive and darn sure smelly! Love the photos <3. Have a fun weekend!

    By the way, I did some research on Lake Martin/Cypress Island Preserve. I'm going to plan a trip there during October. In your experience, is that a good time to visit?

    Lifting you in prayer concerning the plumbing problem, how stressful that can be. We too have some issues so I know the feeling to some point.

    Ow wow! I'm so sorry for your plumbing problems and will send my prayers for your daughter and her fiance on their travels. My son and daughter-in-law have also been flying so I can understand your anxiety. Thank you for these awesome photos Gail, and sending a big hug in the hopes that things will settle down for you.     EEGADS - I know where you're coming from about the plumbing issue; the very same thing happened to us many years ago, and it's awful. :(

    what a bummer about the plumbing, i HATE when anything goes wrong around the house, such a pain and such a mess!! and i really dislike repair men....i think they are often rude and messy and inconsiderate.

    i do however, love your hearts....and the puple is perfection!!!

    We had the same thing happen to us once...roots in old cast iron pipe! Just a few years ago, the kitchen sink drain plugged in the middle of dinner prep; DH spent a good portion of the day under the house in the cold. :-) (Is the flying daughter the one who lives in Portland?)

    I know what you mean about both the plumbing and air travel! We had a plumbing breakdown during a Christmas family do a few years ago - tree roots!

    And I have been in and out of planes a bit recently!

    I've been in the UK for a month and I decided to let the blogging take a back seat, hence the much delayed reply - normal service will resume very soon.

    Plumbing woes are no stranger to us as well, Gail, we had a similar problem a couple of years ago. Sending good thoughts for the safety of your famiky when traveling. The hearts were very uplifting and a creative idea.

    Oh dear. I don't even want to think about it. I hope you won't have any more problems. I have enjoyed your last few posts even though I haven't been saying so. I've been visiting, but not spending too much time. Elderly mother fell and, of course, husband's ongoing treatments.

    I love all the beautiful hearts you found! How delightful.

    I hope it is some comfort for you that flying is still the safest way to travel. I always worry when loved ones are taking a plane, but honestly much more can happen if a teenager drives to school (says the mother of a teenager).

    Oh yikes with the plumbing. It is amazing )in a bad way) sometimes how strong those persistent tree roots are.

    Way back in the day when we first moved to Dallas we lived in an apartment. On more than one occasion, when the upstairs neighbor flushed, it came down into our bathtub. Needless to say, house hunting became a priority.
