My sweet friend went with me today to Hoo Shoo Too Rd. It was a beautiful day, much too gorgeous to remain indoors. She needed practice with Mabel (my old 50D) and I needed to spend time with my new baby, who has yet to be named. We've had a bit of wind lately and I was afraid that all the leaves might have blown away since my last visit. There were a few less leaves, yes, but the orange tones were deeper, making up for the loss. Come see what I mean.

Minimal editing, just a very, very slight increase in saturation and levels adjustment in PS, but that's pretty much it.
Not meant to brag, but the 5D Mark II has made editing so much easier. |

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. As for me, I've been feeling very drained, physically and mentally. I forced myself to decorate the house on Friday, finding a few things that were damaged during the move, and a favorite harp ornament that I broke while decorating the tree. Probably should have waited until I felt better. On Saturday, I shopped 'til I dropped, with a blister on my foot to prove it. We are now off to eat at our favorite restaurant, The Chimes, so I will be back later tonight to see what you all have been up to. Laissez les bon temp, rouler!
that one scene is spectacular! i'd have kept coming back and posting about a dozen shots of it, myself! i like the b&w of your friend, too. great day. great photos!

ReplyDeleteJust lovely photos!! Color please!! Wish that Kevin was my son!! With a mess of fish --- now that is something that I miss so much from central florida!! Fresh water fish and especailly - catfish!! REAL catfish and not farm catfish. Beautiful bayou!! what a wonderful day!!

These are just wonderful, Gail. The fall foliage, the reflections, the Spanish moss, and Kevin and his catch made for some beautiful photos. Tell me, though...are there any alligators in those waters? You know, up here in Indiana, we think Louisiana is full of alligators. :)

Hoo Shoo Too??? That is some name isn't it? Looks like your part of the country is painted just as gorgeous as ours is this year. Outstanding colors! With all the gators that hang around in your neck of the woods, you would never see me in such a small canoe, fishing! Guess the gators are dormant right now? Wish I lived close enough...I'd gladly welcome your expertise talents in knowing how to use a camera...

ReplyDeleteGail, Your colour captures there are outstanding and amazing. That new camera obviously does the trick but it still needs a good eye to spot the opportunity and frame the shot.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, vibrant colors! And, I think I prefer the b&w, too, of Mabel & Michelle... it's less distracting & lets the viewer focus more on the subject. I also really like how the b&w isn't dark, it's very light... I love b&w's like that!
