The day after my son was found, Double D suggested some photography therapy. Besides, it was too beautiful to stay inside, my beloved observed. I have been wanting to go back to
Hoo Shoo Too Road ever since discovering it a few weeks ago, hoping the color was still there. Just a ten minute drive later and there we stood on the banks of the Amite River, oohs and aahs spilling from our lips as though anointing each autumnal leaf. You have to remember that in Texas, where we lived for 30+ years, it is mostly brown this time of year. Here, the bald cypresses are turning a gorgeous shade of orange, stealing the show, but there are also bits of red and lime green vying for attention. Come along!

perhaps i'll motivate you. my ydd got me doing it. she is a great hunter for great finds. the jacket i had on last week, she found that for me while we were shopping together. amazing stuff at thrift shops, amazing!

Gail, my friend, words fail me. They're all so beautiful. But, Gail...really...that shot of the "necklace of rubies" is absolutely breathtaking. I'm fighting the urge to make it my desktop background. But it's probably going to haunt my dreams for awhile. :)

Gail, Gail, Gail, I'm so late in catching up on the lives of my blog friends. I'm so tired in the evening that I make my post and roll into bed with little energy. I was determined to catch up today and found all your posts about your son. I'm so glad he was found. Our son calls every day, but still being 3-1/2 hours away I worry worry about him and spend many hours praying, esp. at night. I can only imagine your desperation to hear from him. I pray he recovers quickly and that God builds a hedge around him. I love you friend and pray God's blessings on you and your family during this Thanksgiving. How thankful I know you all are that your child was found. God bless.

I would be too scared to take a boat ride in that river, wouldn't you? I'd be scared of snakes falling into the boat from the trees or a gator tipping the boat... of course, I'm not from around there, so I don't know how it all works! LoL! =)
