Photos and Google+ plus Spotify=Awesomeness

Here are some photos I took while in Baton Rouge. I really didn't get out much, but I kinda liked these.











Now for the awesome stuff:

I am on Google+ and really liking it. It does what Facebook cannot seem to do easily (at least not when I was on there) in that I can post status updates targeting a specific group of people, or what Google+ calls Circles. It's so much cleaner and cooler than FB. At least to me! If you would like an invitation, send me an email, dixon.gail (at) gmail.com (remove spaces and replace (at) with @ symbol). 

I am also loving the new music service called Spotify. I'm listening to some of my favorite music while I'm writing this post. Yes, I can do the same with iTunes, but with Spotify I can locate music I don't actually own and play it until my heart's content. It does a lot of other cool stuff, too, but I'll shut my yap and let you check it out for yourself. Unfortunately, sign up is by invitation only at this time and I don't have any invites to give out! I got mine by begging and panhandling on Twitter. :) Hopefully, they'll open it up to everyone soon!

    love those photos. the egret and the turtle log sharing is great. all of them are beautiful.

    i don't FB or Tweet so haven't jumped into Google + either. blogging takes up enough of my time, i think! :)

    Great collection of photos! Did you remove the tree sculpture from flickr? I left to search for G+ since I didn't know what it is, and went back and it was gone!

    Anyway, except for chain, is that part of the tree?

    Will have to think about G+. W/flickr, blog, and FB I'm overwhelmed and feel like I put too much of myself out there for someone to steal!

    Your photos are so full of color and beauty! Wow.

    I'm not on Facebook-- I just don't have the time and I don't know much about Google+ Thanks for the tip. I'll read up on it.

    yea i don't know about this google + business. my head explodes at the thought of another thing.

    i am working with BEKnown, the new Monster fb professional networking app and so I just started using that... which is easy but that's all i can handle at the moment!!

    did check out spotify.. seems cool

    Fantastic photos as usual! I tried Google+ but once I realized there was no "approval" process for accepting friendships I deleted my account. Once it gets out of invitation mode I can just imagine it will be a predator's field day if they don't change that. Not to mention it's taken me long enough just to get my FB relationships established, I don't need to start doing it all over again.

    Love these photos, especially the squirrels. I'm glad you had time to snap a few! I'm toying with the idea of Google + but I'm not unhappy with FB (I like the one-stop-shop all my friends in one place time saving part of it, and worry that Google + will just be one more thing to check and steal my time! lol)

    Another wonderful selection of photos, Gail! At the moment I try to find a rhythm for blogging at a more consistent basis and then also be present in flickr again. When that was successful I might take a look at Google+ ;-)

    Oh my....these photos are all beautiful...My favorite (or maybe it's my favorite subject) is the tree with the knot...I see the elephant...does anyone else?

    Love the photos! Not sure I can pick a favorite.
    I never jumped on the FB bandwagon. Just got an invite for G+. Will look into it, but not sure if I will cave and join( I'd like to say that I'm just a rebel, but in reality, I don't need another reason to spend more time on the computer.....well, when the computer will let me connect to the Internet that is! LOL)

    I will look into it a bit more, tho.

    I don't get it at all G+1 what that is. I know I can push +1 like button but what then, what is the purpose for this?!?!

    I've been hearing a lot about Google+ lately, but have not had time to actually have not had time to do any reading about it. Will have to do so. It sounds neat!

    They're all so beautiful, but I really love the 2 squirrels playing under the pink flowers... what an incredibly adorable find! The birds, the turtle, all the water shots & flowers, too... so nice & lovely! =)

    I have another friend who just jumped to Google+. I'm not ready to even explore it at this point--tooooooooo busy. BTW, really love the second photo for some reason--maybe the background. Anyway, all are great (as always). :)

    Your amazing photos keep reminding me that I have to get back on the horse over at Write With Pictures. You have so many photos that will be especially inspiring for our writers. I have been hearing some good things about Google plus. You're tempting me to look into it some more. I'm getting tired of facebook lately.
