Help!

UPDATE: A HUGE thanks to Frank for helping me resolve this irritating situation.

In trying to create a new post last night, I somehow changed my blog to another country that I've never even heard of! That's what I get for trying to post when I'm tired. I've been under my profile and everywhere else that I could think of, and there is no selection for USA in any of drop down menus. Oh my dear. Please help if you can. I don't even know what country I'm in right now!

This is what I'm seeing when I go to my profile:

Afton Villa Gardens is a historic site located in St. Francisville, LA. Its history began in 1820. You may read more on the web site if you wish. A fire destroyed the main home in 1963 and only the gardens remain. Although not my first time there, I had missed the azaleas and daffodils blooming. I have so many photos that I will have to create another post. I had loads of fun with the photo group on this outing.

Saturday

It was a beautiful weekend in the Red Stick! Most of it was spent outdoors, soaking it all in. I hope all of you are seeing signs of spring, and enjoying some milder weather.

Becoming a member of the Louisiana Photographic Society was one of the best decisions I've made this year. For example, Saturday from 9AM to 12PM, we were offered a free photography session with a well-known and respected photographer from our area, Aaron Hogan. His classes usually run about $300, so obviously this was a bargan. The response was so huge, they moved it from the library to the Journalism building on the LSU campus. Although a beginner photography class, it was a great refresher, and has me back on manual shooting, moving more of my dials to get what I want from an image.

Afterwards, sweet B and I attended the Spring Garden Show/Chili Cookoff.

Look at that grill!

I loved this arrangement of hibiscus. The vase isn't too shabby either. :)

On the way home, Double D called and said he'd just finished brewing BEER(!) with my cousin, and to come over for a cookout. Boy, I was whipped, but I really wanted to see my husband and favorite cousin. Finally got home after 8PM and had no trouble sleeping. Stayed tuned for my Sunday adventure!

I don't have any bird pics for Anni's meme, but I do hope she is on the mend. Blog visits to resume this afternoon to see what y'all have been up to!

February Highlights

Where did February go??? It seems like the days are whizzing past me before I can take stock of what has taken place. Yesterday I worked for my former boss, including two days last week. And, since my car had a costly repair, the work was timely.

Below are some highlights from February.
Close-up of Barbara the Barred Owl
Bluebonnet Swamp

Preening after spending hours in the nest.
You can hear her cooing to the eggs now. Its' very sweet!
The eggs are due to hatch next week. We are all super excited!!!

Snout nose Butterfly (American Snout)
Bluebonnet Swamp

Spreading its wings.

Rock pigeons on a hill
LSU Lakes

Canada Goose on a small strip of sandy beach at LSU Lakes.

I have no idea what this is. Looks like a cross between a swan and a goose.

A sweet little Chihuahua from the Mystic Krewe of Mutts Parade.
More to come...stay tuned!!!!

My prayers go to Anni at this time. Godspeed, dear girl.

Birds, Blooms and Bees

These photos were captured on the same day in January. The pansy with hover fly was taken at the botanical garden and was the only image I deemed worthy to keep out of the bunch. Feeling disappointed, I returned home and set up my chair blind, first spreading seeds all around and filling the feeder. The male and female cardinals were drawn to seeds on the driftwood; however, I could NOT get ONE bird to land on the angel statue. Too much to ask for in one day, I guess.

Double D talked me into joining the athletic club with him. So! At 8:30 a.m. I will be doing my first spinning class. Yikes! As soon as the rain skedaddles out of town, I will be dusting off the old tennis racket. Life is good! Hope y'all have a great week.
