Another Delete Party where I rediscover shots I had forgotten about. My life is just so exciting right now!! Woot! Warning: this post has pantyhose in it and I also profess to want a pair. And I hate—nay—DETEST, pantyhose. One of my more eclectic posts, to say the least.

This mama bird attempted to feed the baby bird several times; each time she took her beak out with the seed still there. |
|
Finally, the baby had enough and flew off. He was all, "Oh, forGET you!"
The mom was like, "What'd I do?? Come back here Junior!"

Fleur de lis stockings in a store window in the French Quarter. I want a pair! Wait, what?! |

This looks like some type of ornamental ginger or lily. Anyone? |
I love the bird feeding shot and the snake!
ReplyDeletelaughing at the fleur de lis hose! that is SO you - and yet, so NOT! :) i've not worn pantyhose in, um, wow...
ReplyDeletelove the snake shot and the turtle, too.
haha... I am laughing with TexWisGirl too :) But I will say, I want a pair as well! Gail, your pictures (like always) are phenomenal! That snake is....creepy, but an amazing shot, and the mama bird feeding Junior is incredible. How do you so it? How do you always take such fantastic photos? Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha - love the mama bird feeding its young.
ReplyDeleteA fine, varied series that is very attractive. You got your action shots that are prime catches!
ReplyDeleteOk, Gail, hold on, there are beige/tan tights out there in the pattern of a fleur de lis and they are still on the manikin? huh? When didn't you rip those off of that dummy and mail them to moi? why not?
ReplyDeleteOh they are so coooooooooooooool.
and ...I also love the baby bird/momma bird scenarios. hahahaha
the snake... ?, we won't even discuss.
ja het voederen van de vogel is mooi maar de slang ook.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Fleur de lis panty hose!
ReplyDeleteA new friend of mine is a retired French teacher, and she has a big collection of Fleur de lis. I told her about you!
Spectacular photos Gail. Holy cow. That SNAKE is a piece of art. They all are.
ReplyDeleteHa. I just yesterday threw out a handful of pantyhose that I bet were 10 years old. I can't stand them, but don't want to re-buy them so I just kept those...and kept them... until it dawned on me that the ONLY thing they were good for would be to make ugly little soft sculptures. So I tossed them. And now have a terrible urge to dig them out of the trash and make some ugly little soft sculptures.
Hey...I still wear pantyhose with skirts....well, opaque black ones during the winter months. Love them! For me, the option is not pretty. We had a skiff of snow last night, so seeing your colorful flowers is a shock today!
ReplyDeleteRandom and Beautiful! I'll pass on the pantyhose, it has been many years since I wore them too!
ReplyDeleteThe mockingbird shot is beautiful! I enjoyed the mini-series between the mama and her young. The composition of the photo of the west side of the monument against the perfect blue sky is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLovely images. If I wore skirts,I would almost want a pair go those pantyhose, but no one would notice under slacks.
ReplyDeleteMy goal in life is to take nature pictures half as beautiful as the ones you are going to delete. I want to know where you want to go with those fishnet stockings ;>)!
ReplyDeleteGail, I always enjoy your photos. The baby bird being fed is an adorable shot! And the sky shots are fabulous! Lovely series, have a great evening!
ReplyDeleteAnother fine series. I absolutely love the images of mama and baby bird.. and your accompanying dialogue. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteWonderful series.
ReplyDeletehahahaha, yup, those tights and my shoes would go great together!
ReplyDeletePantyhose, even pretty ones, are an instrument of torture devised by the devil! That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, Mr Long is certainly well buried.
ReplyDeleteOh Gail...this post is just like, well, "the best of 2013"!! Remarkable images.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas
That snake pic is awesome! And I love the Indigo Bunting. I hope you have the Merriest of Christmases! :)
ReplyDeleteI hate pantyhose, too, but I confess I'd like a pair of those, and I'm not even from Louisiana! Beautiful shots. I hope I see an indigo bunting this year.
ReplyDeletesuper!!!
ReplyDeletegreat work!
xo
Beautiful pictures Gail :) I loved the one where the mama bird was trying to take out the seed from the baby's mouth :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photography, but I really had to laugh at the panty hose. Reminds me of a test question in school where you have to pick the object that doesn't belong!! Also, I could really be jealous of the greenery, flowers and wild life I'm not seeing this time of year! Have a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures. I liked the feeding capture very much.
ReplyDeleteLove this post...what fun!
