On December 1st, Double D and I found ourselves with a too-quiet house and a little leisure time on our hands. He asked where I'd like to go, and after a brief discussion, decided on LSU Lakes to see the pelicans. We only saw one lone pelican lounging with the cormorants, but that was okay because I chased a tri-colored heron all over the place and photographed some fall foliage. The heron will have its own post. Or two, or three. :) Stay tuned!

A golf ball landed in the water right as I took this shot.
I hope it takes your eye off the big white light post; I was too lazy to clone it out. |

I'd love to have one of these homes on the water. Actually, a shack would do just fine if I had this view. |
|
Right at dusk I spied a wood duck floating peacefully on the water. |
Thank you all very much for your kind and generous comments. I so appreciate the time you take to share your thoughts with me!
Interesting how fall moves South. My friends in Canada are up to their you-know-what in snow. Dianne
ReplyDeleteThese are so lovely!! Wow it's so amazing how you guys now have the foliage that we lost about a month ago. Can we have it back? :)

ReplyDeleteLove the golf ball splash in that first shot. And the light pole was not a distraction at all. (You need to give me cloning lessons. I'm just not good at it.)
ReplyDeleteAll of your fall color photos are just amazing, and the pleasure is doubled with the reflections. Looking forward to the tri-colored heron post/s. I've never even heard of one of those.

ReplyDeleteWhen I first looked at the top picture, instead of a splash from a golf ball - I thought it was a swan or a large white pelican splashing in the water! Didn't notice the light pole till you mentioned it!! Lovely lake reflections of the fall leaves!! Our leaves are all gone!!
ReplyDeleteWow, the Autumn colors are gorgeous. And I love the reflections, beautiful photos. Have a happy weekend!
