The Language of Windrush Gardens

Having a little fun today. :)

Hey down there! Anybody have some deodorant I can borrow?
(Statue: Wounded Amazon)

Perhaps after my bath, darling.
(Statue: unknown)

Can't you see I'm deep in thought here? Stop pestering me! You've been like that for a century, anyway.
(Statue: Young Hermes)

This ivy is a cool adornment, don't you think?

Hermes: That Wounded Amazon reeks!

Zeus: You're telling me!

I think I'm too far away to help you, Amazon!
(Statue at Barton Arboretum just outside Windrush Gardens)
No can do. I'm part of the grape harvesting team!

Sorry, I'm busy with my grape harvest. Perhaps some flowers will grow up around you and mask the smell.
(Statue: unknown)

Camelia

Never fear! Hippomenes to the rescue! Here, catch!!

Forward! March!

Tell me, George, how did we end up in this swampy mess?

Stop complaining Stella and follow me. We'll ask this fella perched on the branches if we should stay or go.

It's not that bad, guys. Just give the swamp a chance.

Mrs. Photographer, can you cease with the annoying clicks? You're scaring me, therefore, I refuse to pose for you! Scram, okay?!

Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for visiting (and humoring) me today!!

  3. Love your sense of humor, Gail. Those captions made me laugh. And the camellias are in bloom. *sighs* My mom had a mini tree in her back yard. So nice.

  4. I love your humor!! We all need humor in our lives don't we? What I noticed about these statues is how throughout the years, the stones have been colored, designed, and mapped with the signs of mother nature. Gorgeous!

  11. Brilliant.. why ? bcoz the captions go very well with the photos.. liked the way you have taken those pictures. Focus on the ornament in 4th pic, closeup shot(5th pic), standing far away(6th pic), About to fall( never fear pic) and all other pictures. Inspiration:)

  17. :) Love your interpretation of the statues-- with some I think I'd hate to be alone in the dark with them. Love the turtles. You find such interesting places. Have a good weekend.
