New Music Friday

When I find new music I wear it OUT, y'all. This is a new collaboration with The Shins' lead vocalist James Mercer and Danger Mouse's Brian Burton. When I first heard it I was at work and thought, 'Oh, that's nice. Let me play it again.' That was 2 days ago and it has been looping pretty much nonstop since then. Apparently, this song has some addictive qualities because I cannot stop listening to it. Can a song have similarities to crack? Because if so, I may need an intervention soon.

Broken Bells - The High Road

We're bound to wait all night.
She's bound to run amok.
Invested enough in it anyhow,
To each his own…

The Garden needs sorting out.
She curls her lips on the bough,
And I don't know if I'm dead or not,
To anyone...

Come on and get the minimum,
Before you open up your eyes.
This army has so many heads,
To analyze...

Come on and get your overdose.
Collect it at the borderline,
And they want to get up in your head...

Cause they know and so do I.
The high road is hard to find.
A detour to your new life.
Tell all of your friends goodbye.

The dawn to end all nights,
That's all we hoped it was.
A break from the warfare in your house,
To each his own...

A soldier is bailing out.
He curled his lips on the barrel.
And I don't know if the dead can talk,
To anyone...

Come on and get the minimum.
Before you open up your eyes.
This army has so many hands,
Are you one of us?

Come on and get your overdose.
Collect it at the borderline,
And they want to get up in your head...

Cause they know and so do I.
The high road is hard to find.
A detour to your new life.
Tell all of your friends goodbye.

It's too late to change your mind,
You let loss be your guide.

It's too late to change your mind,
You let loss be your guide.

It's too late to change your mind,
You let loss be your guide.

It's too late to change your mind,
You let loss be your guide.

I've heard songs before that looped in my head and have thought an intervention might be necessary (love that). And, I love being introduced to new music. What a good idea for Fridays. Like the song and a cool video to boot. Thanks, Gail.

I love the part about music looping in one's head. And needing an intervention, you know how to say so much in few words. What a talent! And what a cool video! Have a glorious weekend!

Belle, if you go to Glen's Blog Spot I think you'll find a kindred musical (and spiritual) soul. He's a dj in fla. He's on my blog list. Hope you're having a great weekend!!
